The European Optimal Shelf
Availability (OSA) survey shows that the retail and consumer goods
industry is far from delivering near-perfect fulfilment. Average
out-of-stock levels remain high, at 7.1% in average. However, there are
some peaks which exceed 30%, costing the industry dearly. The survey
assessed a number of critical factors that hugely affect on-shelf
availability, providing critical insight that the industry should take
into consideration, as consumers are not willing to accept current
levels of out-of-stocks.
